Molti di voi dovrebbe aver ricevuto le immagini delle nuove Bibbie in inglese, ormai. Che straordinario, storico, incontro gioioso che è stato!
Ecco alcuni dettagli circa la produzione delle Bibbie :
Le Bibbie sono state stampate in Wallkill e presso la filiale in Giappone. Il progetto era altamente confidenziale, con tende intorno alla zona di produzione. 1,3 milioni di Bibbie inglesi dovevano essere stampate a Wallkill dal 13 agosto , la data di inizio del progetto, per l'adunanza annuale . Ciò ha incluso la stampa, la lagatura, la doratura, la produzione e l'applicazione delle copertine e il trasporto.
Per mantenere i tempi, la doratura dovrebbe essere eseguire quasi 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7, con tre turni a rotazione. Altre parti della legatoria lavoravano su doppio turno (dalle 6 alle 23). Gli addetti al turno di notte hanno fatto un grande sacrificio, hanno lavorato dalle 11:00 alle 07:00 per l'intero progetto. Molti nuovi lavoratori sono stati trasferiti da tutte le parti della tipografia per dare una mano. Il sorvegliante della tipografia ha sviluppato il programma in modo che il progetto sarebbe stato completato se tutto funzionava bene, ma comunque sarebbe stato un traguardo enorme con una scadenza fissa . In primo luogo fate caso a quanto caldo faceva durante la prima metà del mese di luglio . Con temperature del genere, è stato molto difficile legare i libri e avere la colla impostata correttamente. Tutto questo ha portato la produzione a passo di lumaca . Ma ora guardate le temperature da 13 agosto al 5 ottobre. Con l'eccezione di un solo giorno con 36 gradi (centigradi), la temperatura non è mai salita sopra i 30 (centigradi), con molti giorni moderati . Come risultato, è stata prodotto una sufficiente quantità di libri.
Il fratello Pierce ci ha mostrato come allentare la doratura in modo che le pagine non restino attaccate insieme . Questo si chiama "rottura" . È necessario perché quando il testo esce dalla macchina la doratura è dura come una roccia . Ogni libro è stata "rotto" a mano, tre libri alla volta. Ciò è stato fatto per 3 volte per tutti i libri, una per ogni lato dorato. Inoltre, ogni volta che un testo è stato rotto è stato controllato per eventuali errori, come macchie bianche o graffi.
Dopo la doratura delle parti, è iniziato il processo per avere gli angoli arrotondati e dorati e poi per avere i nastri inseriti tra le pagine. Sono stati eseguiti altri due controlli di ogni libro e poi è iniziato il processo per applicare la copertina avere il coperchio messo su e infine i libri sono stati imballati, inscatolati e spediti. Di nuovo ogni libro è stato controllato almeno due volte durante tale processo.
Lo scopo di tutti questi controlli, come anche dell'aspetto curato del libro, è stato che il Corpo Direttivo ha voluto che le Bibbie avessero una presentazione dignitosa, capace di spiccare, considerando che è il nostro libro più importante. Speriamo che la vostra copia sia molto buona .
I libri prodotti a Wallkill erano per la partre orientale e centrale negli Stati Uniti, mentre la filiale del Giappone ha prodotto 500-600.000 copie per gli Stati Uniti occidentali. Il Reparto spedizioni doveva coordinare i trasporti in modo che tutti i libri fossero arrivata alle migliaia di destinazioni in tempo, il tutto mantenendo il progetto riservato.
La Traduzione del Nuovo Mondo così riveduta, modernizzata e semplificata, sarà un ottimo strumento sia per migliorare la nostra spiritualità e per aiutare altri a capirla. Ci saranno molte scritture che assumeranno un significato del tutto nuovo e noi potremo scoprirlo per un lungo tempo a venire. Scritture come Giovanni 17:3 possono aprire gli occhi di alcune persone circa l'azione che hanno bisogno di intraprendere. La benedizione di Geova era certamente sulla produzione di questi libri, e certamente sarà anche per il loro impiego.

Many of you should have received your revised English Bibles by now. What a remarkable, historic, joyous meeting that was! Here are a few details about the production of the Bibles:
-The Bibles were printed in Wallkill and at the Japan branch. The project was highly confidential, with curtains up around the bindery production area. 1.3 million English Bibles needed to be printed at Wallkill from August 13, the project start date, to the annual meeting. This included printing them, binding them, gilding them, making the covers, putting the cover on, and shipping them out.
-To do this, gilding would have to run nearly 24/7, with three shifts rotating in an out. Other parts of the bindery ran on double shift (6 am-11 PM). The night crew made a big sacrifice, working from 11 pm-7 am for the entire project. Many new workers were brought in to all parts of the printery to help out. Bindery oversight scheduled it so that the project would be completed if everything went well, but still it was a huge goal with a solid deadline. Would it get done? Not without Jehovah's help.

First look how hot it was during the first half of July. With temperatures like that, it was very difficult to bind books and have the glue set properly. It brings production to a snail's pace. But now look at the temperatures from August 13-October 5. With the exception of one 94 degree day, the temperature never rose above 86, with many moderate days. As a result, enough books were bound.
-Brother Pierce showed us how to loosen up the gilding so that the pages will not stick together. This is called "breaking". It is necessary because when it comes out of the gilding machine it is hard as a rock. Each book was hand broken, 3 books at a time. This was done 3 times for all the books, once for each gilded side. Also each time it was broken it was checked for any errors, such as white spots or scratches.
-After gilding the sides, it was sent to have the corners rounded and gilded and then to have the ribbons inserted. Two more checks of each book were done, and then it would be sent to have the cover put on and then to be shrink wrapped, boxed, and shipped. It was checked at least twice more during that process.
-The purpose of all those checks, and also for the beautiful appearance of the book, is that the Governing Body wanted the Bibles to have a dignified, beautiful appearance that would stand out, considering it is our most important book. Hopefully your copy looks very good.
-The books produced at Wallkill were for the Eastern and Central United States, and the Japan branch produced 500,000-600,000 for the Western United States. The Shipping Department had to coordinate it so that all the books would get out to the thousands of locations on time, all while keeping the project confidential.
The revised New World Translation, which has been modernized and simplified, will be a great tool both to improve our own spirituality and to help others come to understand it. There will be many scriptures that have a whole new meaning, and we will be discovering these for a long time to come. Scriptures like John 17:3 may open some people's eyes about the action they need to take. Jehovah's blessing was certainly on the production of these books, and it will also be on your use of them.
